Andy Warhol—From A to B and Back Again

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art / San Francisco / Art

It’s the first large-scale retrospective on Andy Warhol in over 30 years, and if you missed it at the Whitney, it’s here in San Francisco … with more. Three hundred paintings will fill three floors at the SF MoMA. New paintings include monumental pieces from the museum’s own holdings: National Velvet, Liz #6 (Early Colored Liz), Triple Elvis (Ferus Type), and Silver Marlon—all four from 1963—plus 1983’s Robert Mapplethorpe. —E.C.

Travels to: Art Institute of Chicago (October 20, 2019 January 26, 2020).
