“Eventually, my eyes were opened, and I really understood nature,” said the Impressionist artist Claude Monet. “I learned to love at the same time.” A new exhibition of more than 120 paintings invites viewers to observe this transition in Monet’s art—his letting go of the human presence in his landscapes, his giving in to the force of his surroundings. —J.V.
